Feeling Preppy

19 Dec

Today I was feeling a bit preppy when I decided on this look. I’ve had this dress for a couple of years now and I still love it! The fit is amazing. I feel like I’ve stepped into the 1950’s every time I put it on. I popped the collar of my blazer which its underside is navy blue. I couldn’t forget my pearl accessories. My black over the knee boots gives the outfit some edge.

Houndstooth and Pearls

17 Dec

Today I wanted to go for a classic look: houndstooth and pearls. Most of the pieces came from The Limited (everything in the store was 40% off except for the sweaters which were 50% off). I also picked up a red v-neck sweater and a cream and red lip printed scarf that I plan to pair with a camel colored blazer. I even earned some virtual dollars that I will be spending soon. Of course, I had Holly Woodlawn on my lips. Nars did a fantastic job with this punchy color.

Pink+Black+White

14 Dec

I have had this scarf for quite sometime now and couldn’t find the right pieces to pair it with. In an effort to throw something together, I came up with this:

Blouse: XOXO
Blazer: H&M
Pants: The Limited
Shoes: Coach
Scarf: Target

It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas

10 Dec

I’ve been trying to get everything in order for the holidays. I started mid November to avoid the hustle and bustle. of this time of the year. I’ve included a few pictures of my journey.

This year we decorated the tree in chocolates and golds. My two boys helped. My toddler was so excited and really enjoyed the process. My favorite ornament is one that was given to me by my mother when I was 16, the Sugar Plum Fairy.

I do a lot of shopping via internet and I am always glad when gifts come wrapped! Polo is awesome at this.

The house is  not mine. It one I passed it while out and about. I am not that festive, lol.

The children really enjoy their stockings and I actually had fun finding things to stuff them with. I couldn’t pass up llama, llama Holiday Drama to read to my son. It’s so cute!

How are things shaping up for you?

Wanted

7 Dec

After Christmas I want to go shopping for myself. I’ve been looking around and here are a few pieces that caught my eye.

  • I like this t-shirt and would probably pair it with black sequin leggings, white jeans, and tuxedo pants. It’s a fun shirt to have in the closet.
  • These J. Crew tartan pants are sooooo cute! Sweaters, button downs, and blazers-the possibilities are endless.
  • Another piece from J. Crew that has me jones’ing. These are classy and I like the color combo as well.
  • Pretty, shiny, sparkly-these boots say “we like to party!”
  • I saw these boots at Macy’s and first thought they had too much going on. But for some reason I keep thinking about them.

These are just a FEW items on my lust list-what’s on yours? Do tell!

Winter White and Rose Gold

5 Dec

I have been eyeing these luscious leggings for over a month now. With only one remaining in my size, I decided to take the plunge! I’m so glad that I did! They are simply scrumptious. The only bad thing is that I am short and the leggings are not really designed for us petites, lol.

I plan to pair them with a winter white blazer which I already had  in my closet that’s never been worn! I found a pair of reasonably priced rose gold  heels and a bib necklace in the same hue. The purse is a pearly winter white with rose gold accents.

I can’t wait to put it all together! However, I am missing one element-a winter white corset top/camisole/tank top/bustier to wear underneath the blazer. If I can’t find the right shade, I’m going to pin it together with a rose gold brooch.

Sephora’ing

3 Dec

I stopped by Sephora this weekend to spend the $15 coupon that I received in the mail and to replenish my foundation. Previously I used Macao by Nars. However, based upon a coworker’s recommendation, I tried Make up Forever #75 Mat Velvet. So far I like it.

I also got more primer which my oily skin needs.

When I saw this pretty pop of color, I had to try Nars Holly Woodlawn. It’s an orangey-red shade. I’ve never worn a red on my lips before but this one is quite nice.
