28 Apr- I received my Lorissa pumps from endless.com–they are the bomb! The site and the shoes, lol. They came in two days, free shipping, and I found a promo code for $39.99 of–totally sweet!
- The MAC blotting powder is working okay. For the first days it held up really well, but now I am getting more shiny. Hopefully my new kabuki brush will help. I’m anxious to see how it will fare in the summer.
- I finished Victoria’s book over the weekend and I liked it, though I thought the chapters could have been a wee bit longer. I felt like we were just girlfriends trading fashion tips.
- Clinique has a new product called Pore Refining Solutions Corrections Serum that I would like to try. I had a microdermabrasion a couple of years ago that me with larger pores–ugh! Stay tuned!
- I need more workwear. I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled for any clearnace or bargain items.
You Can’t Touch This (and you probably shouldn’t!)
27 AprWhen I was pregnant, about 7-8 months along, I tried on a pair of harem shorts. They looked ridiculous!!! In fact, my friend and I could not stop laughing! Her stepdaughter burst into my dressing room to see why we were so amused. She immediately piped up “What’s wrong? Is your baby tickling you?!”
With that being said, I don’t think I can do the harem pants trend. They remind of two things:
1. Cow udders
2. M.C. Hammer
While they are comfortable it is just too much slouchiness going on in the groin region, lol. It looks messy and less than feminine. They really don’t flatter too many body types either.
Now I could possibly work with these. I definitely wouldn’t spend over $20 for a pair. What are your thoughts on this summer trend?

Yesterday I picked up Victoria Beckham’s book from the library. As you know from a previous post, I like her style.
I’ll be posting some of her fashion advice as I get further along in the book. Here’s some info on it:
‘I’ve always been a girls’ girl. And I know from experience that making the very best of yourself is something any woman can do. I was never the six-foot-tall pin-up. I’ve always been the girl-next-door who got lucky. I’ve come a long way in the last ten years, but this book isn’t my attempt to tell you what or what not to do. It’s just to share some of what I’ve learned.’
In That Extra Half an Inch, a tongue-in-cheek reference to her love of high heels, Beckham shares her tips for finding your own style including:
- Learning how to dress for special occasions
- Shopping for everyday wear and where to look for it
- Accessories: defining the looks that work best for you
- Helpful hints for the holidays
- Making the most of your wardrobe
- How to feel confident and look great every time you leave the house
That Extra Half an Inch is a beautiful, nothing-but-the truth, easy-to-use book on fashion, beauty and style. Victoria shares her personal style secrets so whether you’re getting ready for work, a night out on the town or even doing the school run, you too can feel confident and look great every time you step out of the front door.
Cleaning Out My Closet Part III
20 AprMy closet is a mess. Partly because it is so tiny by the standards of a walk-in closet (more about that later). I found a closet inventory worksheet here that I plan to use to whip my closet into shape.
