Autumn is Falling

8 Sep

My favorite season is around the corner. Fall. I love the crisp, cool air, hot drinks, colorful foliage, warm blankets, cute and cozy sweaters and stylish boots of all lengths.

It’s 74 degrees here in Indy so I thought I’d go for a fall look.

I should’ve tucked my tank in. Oops.

The colors in this flannel is definitely autumnal. I decided to go for the simple look by pairing distressed jeans with a tank top and ballet flats.

This look could be jazzed up by adding a belt, heels and jewelry.

My flats are fur-lined and so comfy for the win!

Fall Fedora

1 Sep

Let me start by saying that I don’t look good in hats. I can get away with a baseball hat-but that’s about it. Today while in Target I saw some fedoras that caught my eye.

I tried two on and they actually looked sort of cute on my head, lol. I googled some outfits to wear with them and here are a few that I liked:

What are your thoughts about this fall fashion statement? I’ll close this post with a selfie.

Ivy Strong

Today’s OOTD is to support a newly made friend. Like me, she is also a breast cancer survivor who is currently battling the disease.

Pink is my favorite color and green is perfect for spring. I love these two colors together, too.

Lady Gray

24 Mar

I’ve had this sweater for a few years now and was actually thinking about getting rid of it. The boots were a birthday gift and I’ve been looking through my closet for pieces to pair with them.

The tutu is attached to the sweater and gives it a unique flavor. This appealed to the dancer I me. The sleeves also have thumb holes-another cool touch.

I added gray jeans and a chunky necklace to finish off the look.

One Shade of Grey

7 Mar

It’s still pretty cold here in Indiana, which means that I can continue to wear my sweaters before the weather changes to blazing.

I absolutely love this sweater. The tulle attached to the longline cardigan is what did it for me. It’s so girly and completely reminds me of my ballerina days. And not to mention, it’s super warm and comfy.

These booties are about 4.5 inches and just barely lift the tulle off the ground.

So the only drawback is the length. I’m short and as you can see the sweater is long. I have to be very carefully when wearing it.

Furrrrrrrr

The focus piece for this look is my earrings. I ordered them well over a year ago but did not really like them once I opened the package. They simply did not look the way they did on Instagram.

When I wear my hair in a ponytail, I like dramatic earrings to balance the look so I decided to give them a try.

As you can see below, they make quite the statement and I loved them!

Granny’s Couch

27 Feb

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted-my apologies. I don’t have a “photographer” anymore, so it’s difficult to blog!

I’m not crazy about this photo, but it shows how I styled my Nashua booties, aka “Granny Couch.” A friend said the pattern looks like a couch a grandmother would have, lol.

I really like these booties. Jeffrey Campbell does it again!

They are comfortable, unique, and neutral enough that you can pair them with several different looks.

And I’ve grown to love green-all shades really, but especially army/olive/hunter. I found the pants at Target and they have a skinny fit. The collared blouse underneath is also from Target. Come to think of it, the sweater dress is from Target as well!

I wanted a simple look as not to compete with the boots, my statement piece.

The jade necklace was my final touch to complete the look.

Red Camel

17 Oct

I love this color combination together. It’s so classic yet fun. I paired red jeggings with a white Henley and a camel vest that I borrowed from a skirt suit, lol. I added the leopard print stiletto peep toe booties to tie it all together.

I put this outfit together on a whim. I wanted to wear a grey sweater with a white button down underneath, however, I could not detach the black tutu from my lone grey sweater, lol. So I had to resort to plan b.

I remembered I hung on to this plaid jacket which fit the color scheme nicely. I paired it with a ruched button down, and a pair of slim fit trousers from The Limited (clearance). Usually I wear super high heels but I settled for soft dove grey kitten heels today. I added pearls around my neck and to my ears-and it was a wrap!

A Pop of Pink

13 Jun

I found this blouse on the clearance rack at Kohl’s and I love it. The front is rather plain, but the back has a sheer split panel that is longer than the front.

I wore it with a black pencil skirt with an exposed back zipper and leather side panels. I added a statement necklace to jazz it up.

I ended the look with colorful neon pumps.
