One Shade of Grey

It’s still pretty cold here in Indiana, which means that I can continue to wear my sweaters before the weather changes to blazing.

I absolutely love this sweater. The tulle attached to the longline cardigan is what did it for me. It’s so girly and completely reminds me of my ballerina days. And not to mention, it’s super warm and comfy.

These booties are about 4.5 inches and just barely lift the tulle off the ground.

So the only drawback is the length. I’m short and as you can see the sweater is long. I have to be very carefully when wearing it.

“Chocteal”

Believe it or not, this ENTIRE outfit is over ten years old! The shrug sweater, camisole, and skirt are all from Ann Taylor’s Loft. I loved the skirt upon first glance. And the colors are perfect for fall.

I decided to layer two necklaces to add dimension and spice. I finished off with teal colored stud earrings and light brown pearls on my arm.

Fashion 101

Today on my prep period, a student came in my room and shyly introduced himself.  He has to write an article about fashion for the school newspaper and asked if he could interview me.  He said he notices that I dress very fashionably.  I am often referred to as the “teacher who wears high heels.”  What they don’t know is that heels make it easier for me to write on the board, as I am only 5 feet tall!!!

I said yes of course and was pretty flattered. I enjoy looking like a lady and dressing the part.  Selecting outfits is my way of bringing some “color” and excitement into my otherwise humdrum life.

Today I decided to wear the jumpsuit I purchased from H&M over the weekend to work.  I love it!  I love the way the fabric swooshes every time I walk.  It’s makes me feel like such a lady, lol.  I styled it with a milk chocolate shrunken leather jacket, raffia heels with gold cigarette stilettos, square pendant necklace, pink pearl earrings, diamond and gold bangles, and a diamond “bracelet” ring. 

I received several compliments today.  I really like this look and I am glad that I decided to step outside the fashion box.

I’ve had the skirt almost five years and it’s never been worn.  So glad I hung on to it! I love the olive and pewter combo and the cream in the cami and skirt soften it a bit.  I accessorizes with drop pearl earrings from Bebe’s, an olive and emerald bracelet from Macy’s, and and emerald ring from Kay’s.
